The latest creation from award winning design house Lambart & Browne is located just around the corner of Casino Square, overlooking the Café de Paris gardens, it is the new hotspot for Monaco’s elite.
Lambart & Browne, headed up by Freddy van Zevenbergen and Tom Browning, started out from a grounding with renowned socialite interior designer Nicky Haslam. Since its conception the London based team of young talent have worked on a vast spectrum of projects in both residential & boutique commercial sectors, with projects currently underway & completing in Saint Petersburg, Ibiza, Riyadh and across England. As the design team behind Loulou’s, Robin Birley’s now infamous private members club in Mayfair, London, it is no surprise that this new Bagatelle Monte Carlo shares some of its winning hallmarks. It is a sort of classical circus with secluded corners for schmoozing or snoozing or minding your own business, meets boisterous & playful dining for pea-cocking and turning heads as you dance circles on your banquette to house tunes. It is New York meets the Belle Epoque, with a little colonial sophistication, giving a little undefined mystery around its heritage & character. When asked for a sort of hedonism L&B have come up with a series of beautiful spaces. Light, bright & glittering they are elegant with collections of wit & exuberance. This light hearted indulgence greets you as you enter the colonnade, surrounded by planting, the terrace dining is an open glasshouse combining theatre & elegance; high ceilings encased in large windows streaming in the Mediterranean sun, reflecting off globe pendant lanterns.
Not taking itself too seriously, as you enter this original building, the space is designed to relax & embrace its visitors. Vibrant lighting bounces off hand block printed textiles, studio printed wall coverings and illuminated polished plaster where the ceilings are pasted in the Bagatelle signature pocket blue. Behind peacock curtains concealing the VIP copper vaults you’ll find a wonderfully private and glowing hideaway, whilst at the other end of the dining room a welcoming hammered copper ‘starburst’ bar for a more club room environment. All of the copper & brass in this establishment is un-lacquered, patinating when you touch it over time and surrounded by glamorous furniture, wallpaper & detailed bathrooms. The copper trend throughout has a richness, creating a reflective and warming glow with an edge of cool lux.
Bagatelle Monte Carlo is proud to have Executive Chef Rocco Seminara helming the kitchen. He has trained under such visionary restaurateurs as Alain Ducasse and will be tempting your taste buds all summer long at Bagatelle Monte Carlo. For a first bite, Chef suggests his Lobster Ceviche, which features finely, sliced grapefruit, lemon, blood orange and lime with avocado cream & bright garden herbs. Bon appétit! Head Mixologist Jeremy Verneveaux has created a tempting & unique Bagatelle Monte Carlo signature cocktail for your sipping pleasure. Made with Beluga Noble, Xante liquor, homemade ginger syrup, lime, pear and a splash of ginger beer, you can’t have just one. Serving brunch, lunch as well as dinner, drinks and tea, of course, Bagatelle can provide you with rooms for dining & dancing, a terrace for lounging and vaults for hiding. Living up to its name, Bagatelle and Lambart & Browne have certainly created the perfect setting for a new favourite in this extravagant Principality. Bagatelle Monte Carlo is opening just in time for the much-anticipated Monaco Grand Prix. We’ll be hosting the most exciting & exclusive viewing parties with unobstructed views of the race from our terrace, from May 26th- 28th.
